My First Rc Plane

My First Homemade Rc EDF Plane

One Flying longer than a few seconds than Like my EDF Water Plane from my Intro
this Flight Footage of its Maiden Day my First real Rc Plane Flight Experience

ooO what a joy so much Fun but of course first we needed to test something with the split elevator setup that didn't work out so good and after a few tests gave up on the idea for now!...

How To build your first Homemade RC plane is very easy the design using a 64MM EDF
Glue in a Foam Tube similar to ed experimental airlines noob tube but we hade no internet and scratch build it out of my head

This third more simple design works like a charm it Flies like a dream and did anything I ask from it and with her thick stumpy nose and lots of tape made her Crash Proof like we shown in the video!

Let's get back to how to make an RC plane like that you get a 5 blade 64mm EDF and a 30amp ESC Make Tube From Foam That Fits The EDF like a Glove
Place the EDF in the front section of the body but still giving it some space on the front that works like a crash zone so the foam takes the hit and not your EDF unit and electronics

Under the tube, you add extra foam and create a lipo battery compartment
your ESC is placed just behind the motor to get extra cooling from the thrust
So the moment your doing your ground tests standing still or trying to take off no matter what
The ESC get Cooling straight away and believe me you need it with an EDF Motor you are flying them close to full throttle all the time and the ESC gets very hot even after a gentle flight

The Wing is Hot Wire cut its 105cm long 18cm width and the highest points of the wing is set back 6cm from the front edge and is 2cm high
The Polyhedral setup is a 60cm long flat middle piece with 22.5cm long sides glue on an 8-degree angle just a tiny bit nothing extreme just enuff to make it fly like a dream

The rudder and tail section we made a little bit on the bigger side just to be sure the plane shut have enuff authority during flight it's easier to make something smaller then add later on the horizontal stabilizer is 42cm long and 16cm width with the elevator together

The vertical stabilizer and rudder was 26cm long and 16 high
with 2x 9gram servos at the back for rudder & elevator and the receiver go's in the battery section
that make up the complete build overview pictures coming later...

Homemade Rc Plane Testing Max Weight Capacity for FPV Flying
testing max weight capacity for future FPV flying on my homemade Rc plane
fly a smartphone with a 2700mah heavy lipo and test my Rc plane design maximum weight capacity for future FPV flying and it seems to handle that extra weight pretty good

Rc Plane With Camera Test Max Weight Capacity for FPV Flying
Testing how much weight my first homemade Rc plane can carry before making her an FPV plane

To add useful weight and drag we came up with the idea to use my smartphone and place it on top of the EDF plane filming FPV, and giving me a cockpit view of what the plane see during flight

Cheap and easy solution but taking a big risk with my only smartphone it's like your whole world up there on this cheap foam Rc plane everything went well even grab the plane out of the air bringing my phone and the footage safe back to the ground level

This flight gives you a bird-eye view of my surroundings and see this nice flat landscape... farm country perfect place to learn to fly

you can't hire any body in no men's land plus its design to give a soft impact all around that a very nice advantage of an EDF MOTOR

Still, lots of people says don't start with an EDF as your first plane well I proved them wrong
When you dream of something you shut follow it and see it thru and giving me two good scratch-built models the second is an EDF Bi-Plane

How To Fly Rc Plane Slope Soaring in Windy Conditions and Crash
It's More a test For my first homemade Rc plane to see how it holds up in windy conditions that's way I brought it up to a perfect soaring location at the beach where we learn the first basics of slope soaring

For example where is the lift area and never turn with the wind but always against it
iff you know that then your good to start slope soaring

Of course, there is still a lot to learn like from which area's you need to stay away but you while learning a long the way that they are just foam planes and it fun to crash and learn from your mistakes
that is something I don't want to take away... in joy the video
