DIY Rc Plane on A Stick V1 Maiden Flight
My first DIY Rc plane on a stick V1 started out as a slow stick with a very 140cm long glider wing on its maiden flight
It was the perfect soaring plane definitely because I live next to a DYK that makes's an ok soaring location, to have fun with a slow plane that's easy to fly low and still be in good control
We didn't get much time to build grab and an 18mm by 18mm width stick from my other DIY projects and used that as body
Because it was strong and very stiff compared to foam body's and the weight was similar to a foam body of that size, packed in tape just foam and your 30% lighter but also so much weaker
perfect for slope soaring where you wane save every gram but I tend to scratch build them so they last at least a hundred flights
We used a 2212AD 750kv slow motor on the stick and a light landing gear with tiny wheels for a minimum of drag
Foam wing and tail with 4 servos for ailerons, elevator and rudder to get maximum control and a perfect flying machine
One of my best project until now it's being upgraded time after time to complete different jobs, it had to carry out
We had so much fun during al these test flights because it was flying so good out of the box
Slowly we have fallen in love with polyhedral wings it flies and takes corners so good... just perfect!
